Brilliant Family Festive Fun Day!

Despite the rain, Keighley town centre was buzzing with happy visitors on Saturday at Keighley BID’s day of Festive Fun.

The rain didn’t dampen the cheerful atmosphere, as visitors of all ages came to enjoy a day packed with Christmas activities across our town centre.

Children’s faces lit up with wonder inside the giant inflatable snow globe at the Airedale Centre, while the impressive stilt-walking Santas towered above delighted crowds, waving and posing for selfies with excited children.

Keighley Market rang with children’s laughter throughout the day as families enjoyed hilarious comedy magic shows. The Christmas grotto enchanted visitors, with wonderful elves from Action Point Community Support Services helping Santa and raising funds for their charity.

Keighley’s stunning Victorian Royal Arcade on Low Street, beautifully decorated for Christmas, provided the perfect backdrop for families browsing festive market stalls. The popular underground tours of the Victorian subterranean level offered a unique adventure that families loved exploring together.

The real stars of the show were a pair of friendly reindeer happily munching carrots on Church Green.

"Thank you so much to everyone who came out in the rain on Saturday – your support means the world to us. Seeing families laughing together, children's excited faces, and the community atmosphere was brilliant. We're busy planning more family events for next year, so please follow Keighley BID’s Facebook and Instagram pages, or keep an eye on our website to join us again."

A special visit from Keighley's Lord Mayor

Keighley’s Lord Mayor, Cllr Chris Herd, and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Andrea Walker, took time out of their busy schedule to join in the family fun.  They visited the reindeer, took a selfie in the Christmas photo booth, and enjoyed the balloon modelling in Keighley Market.

Thank you to our community partners

We’re so grateful to our members and community partners for helping make this event happen.  Thanks to the Airedale Centre, Keighley Market and Royal Arcade for hosting the entertainment and Keighley Town Council for the use of Church Green.  Thanks to Taylors on the Green for  supplying power to our festive selfie booth!

An extra special thank you to the fantastic events teams and performers who entertained families all day long!

Thank you again to our wonderful Keighley community for making Saturday so special!
