BID Ranger Helps Keep Keighley Looking Its Best starting with Town Centre Weeding Work

Keighley Business Improvement District (BID) has launched an enhanced town centre improvement programme, with BID Ranger Kiran leading efforts to create a cleaner, greener and more welcoming environment for businesses, residents and visitors.
Kiran has already begun work by tackling overgrown weeds around key areas of the town centre, including locations near Jackie’s Cafe and The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. The results are already visible, with significant improvements made to the appearance of these busy areas.
The weeding programme marks the first phase of a wider plan to improve the town centre and strengthen pride in Keighley. Working 15 hours per week, Kiran will focus on a range of environmental enhancement projects designed to improve the appearance and cleanliness of the town centre throughout the year.
Future works will include jet washing town centre streets and public areas, helping to remove dirt, grime and staining that can accumulate over time. Additional projects are also being explored as part of the BID’s ongoing commitment to creating a town centre that local businesses and residents can be proud of.
The BID believes that maintaining a clean and attractive environment is essential to supporting local businesses, encouraging visitors and improving the overall experience of spending time in Keighley.

Our BID Ranger programme is focused on delivering visible, practical improvements that make a real difference to the look and feel of Keighley town centre. Kiran has already made an excellent start, with the results of recent weeding work clearly visible in our before and after photographs.
Alongside this, our Business Liaison Officer, Josephine, has been out meeting businesses, listening to their concerns and gathering feedback on the issues that matter most to them. Building strong relationships with our businesses is a key part of ensuring that the BID’s work is targeted where it is needed most.
This is just the beginning of a wider programme of improvements. In addition to regular maintenance and weeding, we have plans to introduce jet washing across parts of the town centre and explore further initiatives that will enhance the appearance of Keighley and create a cleaner, more welcoming environment for everyone.
Kiran will be working 15 hours each week delivering hands-on improvements throughout the town centre. Every hour will be focused on projects that have a positive impact on local businesses, residents and visitors. We are determined to play our part in helping to raise standards and build greater pride in Keighley.
