Dementia Action Week Comes to Keighley
14th May 2026
On Monday 18th May, Dementia Friendly Keighley is proud to support Dementia Action Week from 18–24 May with a series of events across the community designed to raise awareness, offer support, and bring people together.
Throughout the week, local residents can visit information stands, awareness sessions, community activities, and outreach events at locations including Airedale Hospital, Keighley Bus Station, Shipley Library, the Airedale Centre, and more. The aim is simple: to create a more dementia-friendly community where people living with dementia, their families, and carers feel understood, respected, and supported.
One of the highlights of the week is the Dementia Friendly Express Train raffle, handcrafted and donated by a valued volunteer living with Frontotemporal Dementia. The raffle celebrates creativity, resilience, and the positive impact of community connection. Tickets are just £1, with the grand draw taking place on Friday 5th June.

Dementia Action Week is about starting conversations, building understanding, and reminding people that small actions can make a big impact. Whether you stop by for advice, attend an event, or simply learn more about dementia, every conversation helps reduce stigma and strengthen support within our community.
