A Promoted & More Vibrant Keighley
The BID will deliver projects to enhance the promotion of Keighley and create an animated town centre experience for customers.
Keighley is surrounded by regional tourist and visitor attractions including the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, East Riddlesden Hall, Cliffe Castle and Haworth. The BID will enhance the promotion of the town centre to thousands of visitors, increasing footfall and encouraging additional consumer spending in Keighley town centre.
To achieve these objectives the BID will invest in:
- Keighley BID website to promote offers from local businesses and an online listing of events and town centre businesses
- Keighley BID social media channels to engage consumers
- Shop Local Keighley Independents Campaign (Read More button)
- Keighley Food and Drink Guide
- Free Business Photography for BID members
- High impact seasonal events to attract more consumers and visitors
- New investment to enhance the town’s Christmas experience for consumers
- Development of strategic partnerships with key tourist attractions
Safer, Cleaner and Greener Keighley
Businesses have asked for new improvement projects to create a safer, cleaner and greener town centre environment for consumers, employees and companies. The BID will also work with Bradford Metropolitan District Council and Keighley Town Council to ensure that the basics are right across the town centre, and that the baselines for cleansing and environmental programmes are delivered.
To achieve these objectives the BID will invest in:
- An enhanced and more expansive radio network to connect businesses with duty police, warden’s services and CCTV Control
- Free radio network handset for BID members
- Investment to tackle anti-social behaviour and the root causes of business crime.
- Improving the presentation of vacant units
- New banners and signage to list the look and feel of the town centre
- Investing in new Keighley BID branding and signage in and around the town centre
- Gateway features and improved waymarking
- Enhanced investment into new planting features and hanging baskets
- New investment to tackle grot spots, investing in enhanced street cleaning and jet washing
- Options to increase investment in enhanced street cleansing and litter picking over and above the work of the Council
Supported Business Community
The BID will ensure that the voice of businesses are heard and the needs of businesses are understood by key-decision makers in Keighley, Bradford and West Yorkshire
To achieve these objectives the BID will invest in:
- Keeping businesses informed and up to date about developments and business news in Keighley
- Signposting companies to support, advice and information
- Finding opportunities for training and upskilling employees in the BID area
- Access to business grants
- Free cost saving consultancy support and advice for BID members
