Keep Keighley Clean – Litter Picks
Keighley Business Improvement District (BID) launched its “Keep Keighley Clean” project with a successful litter pick on Friday 27 September, marking the first of many efforts to improve the cleanliness and appearance of the town. The event saw participation from a wide range of community representatives, including Keighley BID Board members, Robbie Moore MP, Town Mayor Cllr Gulfraz Hussain, Keighley College, Town and District Councillors, and local volunteers.
Keighley BID Manager, Sarah Broadbent, said, “One of Keighley BID’s objectives is to improve the look and feel of Keighley for businesses, visitors, and its residents, so that we can all feel pride in our town and encourage more people to come to Keighley. This litter pick is the first of many projects to help keep Keighley clean.”
A team of volunteers work hard to collect litter in across the town to making a visible difference to the streets and instilling pride back into Keighley. Keep Keighley Clean is an ongoing commitment by Keighley BID to maintain the town’s appeal and support a thriving community for both locals and visitors alike.
The dates of the next litter picks are
- Wednesday, 30 October, 12:30 pm
- Thursday, 21 November, 12:30 pm
Volunteers are encouraged to meet at the Civic Centre to participate, where litter picking equipment will be provided.
We would love to hear suggestions from the public on which streets or areas within the town centre should be included in future litter picks. Suggestions can be sent via email to [email protected].
